Mrs. Julie Hodges was born and raised in Surry County. She attended White Plains Elementary School and Beulah Elementary School. She then attended J. Sam Gentry Middle School and Graduated from North Surry High School in 1998.
Upon graduation from North Surry High School, Mrs. Hodges attended Meredith College in Raleigh, NC for one year. She then transferred to Surry Community College where she graduated with an Associate Degree in Arts. After obtaining an Associate's degree from Surry Community College, she attended Lees-McCrae Collge to earn a Bachelor's Degree in Arts in Elementary Education.
She taught first grade at Copeland Elementary School for two years and then continued her education. She continued teaching while obtaining a Master's Degree in Reading in 2005. In 2004, Mrs. Hodges transferred to Cedar Ridge Elementary School and was Cedar Ridge Teacher of the Year for 2005-2006 school year. She received her National Board Certification in Literacy in 2008.
Mrs. Hodges is very excited to be at North Surry High School for the 2016-2017 school year as the College Liaison. She enjoys assisting students with Surry Community College classes, college entrance information, applications and books!
She is married to Willie Hodges. They have one son, Kaymen, and one daughter, Katlyn. Her son attends Gentry and is in the 8th grade. Her daughter attends East Carolina University and is a Junior. Mrs. Hodges enjoys church, family time, reading and watching movies.
